Snake Shedding Skin

Snake Shedding Skin

Found a snake, it’s not a problem. Getting nowhere to run, is not a problem but, if the snake has blurry-looking eyes, this is a problem. We all know that snakes shed their skin. A perfect shed indicates that the snake is in good health and the humidity is perfect. But there are a few disadvantages to all this. Snakes have a tiny amount of skin near their eyes responsible for protecting the eyes. But once it sheds dirt starts getting into the eyes of the snakes. At, a point the snake becomes blind. It can still hunt but there are a few disadvantages. First, of all the snake will start to attack anything it feels. If it attacks a porcupine, then the snake will die because of the quills. In some cases, even if the snake doesn’t have an eye problem, there is another challenge facing the snake. Sometimes, when snakes shed their skin, the entire thing doesn’t come off. Due, to its pressure, the blood flow stops in that area. If that happens the only the snake can do for survival is to cut that part off. If the shed isn’t too hard then the snake can rub against some rough surface so that it falls off. Snakes have a really tough life. So, the next time you see a snake with blurry eyes or a part of its shed attached to its body, take it to the vet asap.
