Australia is one of the most horrible places for animals, they have faced over 36 mammal extinctions. That is more than the whole world combined!! In short, Australia’s nature and wildlife are going extinct and they should be criticized. Today I’m going to talk to you about Australia. Now I’m going to explain something. All the negatives I said just now are unfortunately what most people think Australia’s wildlife is all about. But let me prove you wrong. Yes, for a very long time the Australian government was nothing but evil, they were abusing and killing so many animals. This was complete madness. But let me tell you that the Australian government is now taking wildlife preservation very seriously, they’re pushing their limits to catch poachers.

And the prison time for hunting is from 12-16 years and 16- 18 years, that’s more than if you hunted illegally in the US. Plus, did you know that they invented an actual machine that can find trafficked animals by giving a 3d observation to the observer? Yeah, it’s true, this works. The government has also announced a 0-extinction target for the country’s plants and animals. The goal forms part of a 10-year-old plan to improve the trajectory of 110 species and 20 places and protect an additional 50m hectares of land and sea area by 2027.

The Australian government spends 35 million US dollars on protecting its wildlife but it will make a huge temporary boost to 1 billion US dollars. And most importantly Australia didn’t keep its dirty past a secret, the government said it was responsible for all the innocent deaths caused by the past Australian government. Most countries would keep this a secret, but Australia told the world that it was responsible and that it was going to take steps to say sorry to its wildlife. And as we bring you all of the amazing positives, of course, Australia is not the best at saving wildlife. It has a terrible extinction rate. But by looking at their progress, I’m impressed. If they are working so hard to save their wildlife, just imagine how hard they will work to conserve their wildlife in 2030 or 2050. In the future, I know, without a doubt, Australia will be the best place for animals with zero extinction rates, with only 1 or 2 poachers in the whole country. So, we as the international community must give Australia another chance. And the place we now think is the worst place for animals will become in the future, the best at conserving and making its extinction rate 0.
